4 Baptisms at the Chapel
As Anglicans, we worship God using the Book of
Common Prayer and the Authorized Version of the Bibles for worship
services. At the Chapel we use the American 1928 Book of Common Prayer
and the New Kings James Version of the Bible. We are led by Bishops who
trace their Apostolic Succession through the Apostles of our Lord Jesus
Christ. Our Order Episcopal Visitor is Archbishop Robinson of the United
Episcopal Church of North America. The UECNA is NOT associated with The
American Episcopal Church in any way! The UECNA is one of the Original
Continuing Anglican Churches in the USA (Means they broke for the
Episcopal Church in 1979 over the prayerbook and women’s ordination).
They are not part of the Continuing Anglo Catholic Movement either.
Please google the UECNA.
We are a Chapel in The Anglican Order of St. Patrick (www.anglicanosp.org). The Anglican Order of St. Patrick is a modified Anglican Benedictine Order. The Order was found in the UENCA over 25 years ago as primarly a Lay Order. We are a non-cloistered order; means we do not live in a monastery. Each Brother or Sister lives in their local community, most have a secular job, and many have families. For over 20 years we were the Anglican Order of St. Benedict. In 2023 we decided to change our name to better match our ethos. As being Benedictine in our practices, we are required to pray several times a day, be in service to the church and the community.
Shenandoh Mountain Anglican Chapel follows The Irish
Way" of going out to the people, to bring the gospel message and to
plant churches. We are a Private Chapel in the Order (as all Chapel's in
our Order), but do allow people to attend
on Sundays and worship with us or at other times of the year.
We are about bring the Masculinity of God back to His people and church. We are here to teach men and women how to be the real men and women that God created us to be. Soicety has lead us to be complacent and accepting of what it believes a man and woman should be. We are not suppose to be the Wimps that society has created! The only way evil wins is by getting you to accept it and think of it as normal.
The biggest complaint we hear today is that I really don’t have very many close friends, I am not really connected to anything or anyone. Modern society with all of its high-tech gadgets and gizmos, the fast pace of life, has left us in a state of being isolated. Hard to believe I know. We were never meant to be unconnected from the community, family, and friends. But we are, everyone is going in their own direction at a thousand miles an hour or plugged into a video game for hours on end. It is time to unplug. It is time to give people a place to connect, something to give their life meaning and purpose, time to make them part of a community. If you feel that you don't fit in, things are going the right way in your life. Well maybe it's time to change!
We are zealous in our efforts to advance the Kingdom of God and Our Savior by maintaining personal devotions daily; providing Christian education for our members; seeking the salvation of family and acquaintances; living above reproach in the world; being just in our dealings, faithful in our commitments and exemplary in our actions.
We are dedicated , by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this chapel, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, sacraments, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel to all peoples through all nations.
Our focus is on helping an individual grow in their spiritual life, biblical knowledge, and ministry to the church. The Order of St. Patrick wants to help each person plug into your local church, help in local ministry and to service inside the church. We help you find your gifts given by God to help you serve God in your own and unique way. We want you to find your path in the church! And most importantly your purpose in life!
