About Us

Who we are!

We are an Evangelical Anglican Catholic Chapel in the Anglican Order of Saint Benedict (O.S.B.) and are a Benedictine house, following in the Benedictine way of prayer. Shenandoh Mountain Anglican Chapel is not a cloister order, but a missional order. We follow the Irish monastic movement of going out to the people, to bring the gospel message and to plant churches.

We are zealous in our efforts to advance the Kingdom of God and Our Savior by maintaining family and personal devotions daily; providing Christian education for our members and families; seeking the salvation of family and acquaintances; living above reproach in the world; being just in our dealings, faithful in our commitments and exemplary in our actions.

We are dedicated , by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this chapel, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, sacraments, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel to all peoples through all nations.

We believe in the heart of the Celtic monastic movement to take the church to the people and to plant churches focused on Christ centered worship.

We will watch over one another in brotherly love; remember one another in prayer; aid one another in sickness and distress, cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech; be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation without delay.

Statement of Faith!

The Holy Bible is the inspired word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith. We band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind. The seven sacraments of the church and the two major being the Lord's Supper and baptism. We believe in the Sanctity of Marriage that is between One Man and One Woman, the Male Character of Holy Orders and the Evil of Abortion.

Commitment to the Order!

This chapel is committed to following the rule of our Order, the rule of Saint Benedict, and The Irish Way. We are devoted as well, to a life of prayer!
